Sustainable Living Just 30 Minutes From Downtown San Diego

Homes That Complement Your Lifestyle

Located just east of Rancho San Diego, and set between the fairways of the Steele Canyon Golf Resort, Ivanhoe Ranch will include the development of 119 new single family homes in addition to the historic Cliff May designed Ivanhoe Ranch house located on the 5-acre Lot 120.

Designed to enhance and minimally impact the natural topography, Ivanhoe Ranch will provide new opportunities for families and those enjoying retirement to experience living in a gated community with most homes enjoying golf course frontages located less than 20 miles east of downtown San Diego.

Ivanhoe Ranch will include 47 homesites averaging 1/3 acre, 39 homesites averaging 1/2-3/4 acre and 34 homesites with a one -acre minimum. Homeowners will have the opportunity to choose from nine residential building plans with a variety of building colors and materials – all fitting with natural aesthetics and surroundings.

Creating places for families to gather is important to Ivanhoe Ranch, and the project will provide a 1.78-acre park which will include parking, a restroom, green play area, tot lot and basketball court. Also included are horse stalls for riders on the adjacent county equestrian trail to stable their horses while they take a break. Mountain bikers riding on the extensive nearby trail network may also take a break at the Ivanhoe Ranch community park.

Environmentally Friendly Design

Ivanhoe Ranch will create a sustainable and livable community while encouraging pedestrian and equestrian activity. The project has been designed in accordance with sustainable building and planning practices, such as compact development, pedestrian orientation, a variety of housing types, efficient/green building design, and low impact development techniques. Ivanhoe Ranch is committed to reducing potential environmental impacts, including the overall reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Ivanhoe Ranch homes will all be equipped with solar panels, electric vehicle charging capabilities, electric or alternatively fueled water heating systems, and water-efficient faucets, appliances, and plumbing features. Other sustainable building practices include the use of rain barrels to collect and conserve water used for outdoor irrigation, and the planting of drought-tolerant/native landscaping to reduce outdoor water use.

Ivanhoe Ranch is adjacent to the County Master Trail system and the project proposes to build a segment of the trail located along its western border as envisioned in the Valle de Oro Community Trails and Pathways Program. The new segment would ensure trail connectivity, encourage pedestrian movement, and provide access to recreational opportunities. The private park, included as part of the Ivanhoe Ranch community, would include stabling facilities, restrooms, and a sitting area for trail users to enjoy.
